QUICKSTART

Make your first METAR API request

Purchase METAR access, claim your API key once in the console, and call the REST endpoint from your server.

curl
curl "https://api.example.com/v1/metar?airports=KJFK,EGLL" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer skv_..."
Coverage note

Airport codes are checked against the versioned overseas catalog. China-local-only airports are intentionally excluded.

WebSocket subscription

Connect from your backend with the Authorization header. The example below uses the Node.js ws package; do not put your API key in a URL or client-side code.

javascript
import WebSocket from "ws";

const ws = new WebSocket(
  "wss://api.example.com/v1/ws/metar?airports=KJFK,EGLL",
  { headers: { Authorization: "Bearer " + process.env.SKYVIEWOR_API_KEY } },
);
ws.onmessage = (event) => console.log(JSON.parse(event.data));
